A DIARY REMINDER!
JUNE 14th is our Fete du Vin, a Boulevard Napoleon en primeur tasting and lunch in our garden at La Liviniere, you are very welcome, please let Kitty know if you would like come! There are plenty of flights quite near, Beziers, Montpellier, Cacassonne, Perpignan... she is happy to advise. See you there!
The International Wine Challenge...
Results were announced last week and a few of our vignerons did extremely well! Coming tops with the GOLD MEDAL was the Chateau de Jurque, SEDUCTION 2010 . Our patience was rewarded, what can we say, we are the sole importers and have listed this wine for some four years... (no, we are not being smug)! As always, ask young Max for details.
Good news for our Burgundy lovers!
Our very own St. John White Bourgogne will be here and available in three weeks. It will be by the glass too at the restaurants so we'd be delighted for you to come in and have a taste!
AND we have just listed Bruno COLIN (yes, that famous family) for the first time following a visit last year. Trevor notes that the Santenay Vielles Vignes 2010 is excellent, et tres bonne valeur!... Available to pick up at both restaurants (but not online) at £23 for the bottle, there is not much around so let us know if you would like to reserve.
Trevor enjoying the Santenay Vielles Vignes with his lunch today!
New List Additions
We've worked through the last of our spring tasting notes and we are delighted to say that we will be ordering the red and white 'Le Grand' CUVEES from Peter at REVELETTE shortly! Trevor will be in St. Chinian next week seeing some old friends to resurrect a long standing relationship with the village... more on this next time and we look forward to having a St. Chinian on the list once more.
Bag in Boxes to your Door!
People have been demanding our Bag in Boxes delivered to home, which we would love to do! We are running trials with a couple of orders but in the mean time feel happy to order via email and of course we'll sort it out! Perfect for your parties now the weather is getting warmer - and we do the carrying for you!
Finally, New Openings...
We are looking forward to the opening of our BAKERY ROOMS at Maltby Street on June 14th. We will have substantial wine off-sales as well as glasses to have with your rarebits andMadeira to have with your seed cake! Trevor will do a tasting when he is back from the winery... exciting days!
And lastly some more alumni doing their thing: James Lowe and John Ogier have opened Lyle's in Shoreditch. Do go, you'll spot some wines you maybe know!
